The Savage Cruiser was our first intense restyling effort, carried out in 2005 on the Savage Classic (our first Savage model to market, but now discontinued). “Restyling” is the right word to explain it, as it all revolved around this: new engine cowling and panel housing design, new lower fuselage and tail shape, new wing tip and shape design ailerons, new side windows and landing gear shape (with aerodynamic wheel covers available as an option) have moved to the drawing board.

All these design details have given, along with a number of beautiful paint schemes, a unique look and character to the Savage Cruiser, a much loved aircraft with a classic, elegant and vintage look and much more streamlined fuselage from a design point of view.

But it’s not just about style and look, a more accurate aerodynamic attention has in fact given the aircraft those little extra aerodynamic qualities that allow a better cruising speed than its other brothers, thus making the name “Cruiser” very suitable for the airplane.

Without a doubt, this is the plane to get around in style and get noticed at airports! The Cruiser is also the best-selling Savage aircraft in some markets, such as Germany. It is often used there, also as a towing platform, by many Aeroclubs or private pilots (specially when equipped with the Rotax 914) and used by RC manufacturers as a base, to build their RC scale models too.
