Passion is what motivated us in the design
of the Savage Aircrafts.

"Passion for the harmonious and elegant features, passion for the aircrafts designed during Golden Age of general aviation, passion for the way of flying with strong personality feeling free without compromise".

Probably an operation of art created in its steel tubing and dacron fabric that finds its natural element in the sky above the hills, enormous lake of forest or rivers of a beautiful country side.

"Flying the Savage is a unique experience."

As the wheels leave the ground, and as it gains altitude, it describes a feeling that is strong, so powerful, almost impossible to explain and it takes you on a trip back in time.
The shadow shown from the long rounded wings caress places that anchor immediately with past memory.

"And to glide becomes a joy
  You are not simply flying...
You are living a special experience."

The Savage is not a way to move incredibly fast from one place to the next, but it is above all a dear friend in which to share emotions of the sky.

"An honest friend that will never betray thanks to the excellent qualities of its steel tubing and in its system of modern securities".

The Savage Classic will offer you a versatile platform, that during the years you will be able to adapt to your different attitudes or dreams.
Using the bushwheels, or the skies..or the amphibious floats.
Being able to land almost everywhere, with that special sense of safety that only a strong steel welded fuselage can offer.
In other words you could be able to become a true “Bush Pilot”.

The Savage Cruiser was manufactured with particular care to details and grand attention in the research of absolute comfort and elegance.
This modern craft has the same structure of the Savage Classic, (aircraft from which derives) but different and more gentle shape.
You will be able to do the same special “jobs” typical of the Classic version, but with something unique in your hands, expecially if painted with our special paint schemes.

"Choose your Savage... Start your dream."

Design info
Fuselage

Consists of a reticular structure made up of TIG-welded 4130 aeronautical steel tubing. Access to the cockpit is gained via a single canopy on the right hand side of the fuselage which opens upwards. The fully adjustable seating frame, ample space for the pilots, good all-round visibility and ergonomic controls make flying comfortable and safe even over long distances. Type-approved 4-point seat belts increase the overall sensation of safety provided by the aircraft. The flame-screen section is made of stainless steel to provide optimum protection against fire. The fuselage is
fully covered with a 90-120 g aeronautical skin which is treated and painted. Main welds are checked with the aid of penetrative liquids and the tubes are protected against corrosion from their interior too (optional).
Windshield and windows are made of Lexan F 5006. The Savage features a complete set of dual controls except for the flaps lever. There is also a roomy storage compartment behind the passenger seat.

Wings
Download...

The wings are of the rectangular type with rounded extremities: the profile is a modified 4412. The structure is made up of two tubular   spars in   aeronautical aluminium alloy  (doubled  on  the inside where necessary) and a classically designed system of compressors and diagonals. The ribbing consists of 11 ribs attached to the structure and sewn to the fabric skin. Each wing root houses a welded aluminium tank containing 34 litres of fuel; in-tank fuel level is visible to both pilots.
The wing is covered with aeronautical 90 g treated fabric skin. The flaps can be set to 3 different positions with a maximum excursion of 35 degrees. There are two strong aluminium uprights and a universal joint which allows the wings to be folded back for on-road transport purposes.
The employed alloys are of the 2024-6061/t6 type. All nuts and bolts are of aeronautical quality. All the engineering documentation concerning the load tests and studies carried out by aeronautical engineers Franchini and Vizzini (who previously worked at Aeritalia and then Boeing in Seattle) with the aid of sophisticated programs such as the French Catia (aerospace) and the American Nastran is available on request.

Tail

The tail is cruciform and consists of welded tubing covered with a fabric skin. The rudder is connected to the rear swivel wheel for taxiing manoeuvres. The horizontal tailplane is equipped with mechanical trim and can be folded upwards. Ample surface area of the controls provides extremely sure control, especially useful when flying at low speeds (situation in which the Savage performs best), floats fliyng or with crosswinds.
Electric trim is available as an option.

Undercarriage

The undercarriage has the classic rear-wheel tricycle or "taildragger" arrangement. The front wheels are fitted with independent pedal-controlled hydraulic brakes. The suspension is of aeronautical-standard elastic design with a steel safety cable to prevent over-extension. The tail wheel is equipped with a release mechanism which allows it to swivel freely when better on-ground tail control is required. Two large tundra-type low-pressure tyres can be fitted to allow problem-free taxiing over rough airfields (optional). Bushweels are available as an option.
For special operations we can supply a stronger landing gear and axle complex.

Controls

As already stated, this aircraft features dual controls, with rigid rod control of the elevator and steel cable control of rudder and ailerons. The mechanical trim is also cable-controlled. The rear stick is also demountable, for more safe flights with passengers (as an option).

Instrument panel

The standard configuration includes anemometer, altimeter, variometer, compass, slip indicator, RPM counter, hour counter, head temp. gauge, oil temp. gauge, oil press. gauge. Several other instruments can be fitted as well different type of avionic and gps system.A custom made panel is also available as an option.

Engine

The standard engine is the 4-stroke 80HP Rotax 912 UL. For certain types of flying (floats fliyng and mountain flying) the more powerful 100 HP Rotax 912 can be installed. It is also possible to install any other engine with a compatible weight factor (see cg.).
The Rotax 914 turbo is also available as a special request.
